MUSIC SPEAKS MORE THAN WORDS

Music is a non-verbal language fostering creativity and imagination and offers an alternative means of self expression to children who find it difficult to communicate through speech. Music is an art form, and the study of it provides children with exposure to other cultures and helps develop tolerance, which is the need of the hour.

The vocal form of music, the strongest and the most dominant component of Indian music was considered to be a major part of Natya Shastra. It goes with out saying that the song is the most ancient form of music. To us at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans R.K.Sarda Vidya Mandir, we understand that the benefits of music are immense, some of which have been enumerated below:

  • Vocal music can help the child relax and concentrate in his / her studies well, so that he / she doesn't become a singer alone, but also an excellent student who is good at studies.
  • Music lessons help develop reading and listening skills, and improve concentration levels. Studies have indicated that music training provides stimulus to the parts of the brain involved in processing language and reasoning.
  • Group music lessons help in social development, by encouraging cohesiveness through group playing. Practice and performance help to build discipline and self-confidence. In going through the various stages of learning music, the child also learns commitment and the value of seeing things through.
  • Learning an instrument helps to enhance motor skills. Reading notes and playing help to foster hand-eye coordination.

....................and above all.............. music is fuuuuuuuuuun unlimited…………!.

The School is equipped with 3 Music rooms, one each dedicated to Vocal Music, Percussion and String Instruments.
