Bhavan’s R. K. Sarda Vidya Mandir was established in April 2010 by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Raipur Kendra with the generous support of the Sarda Group, the school began its journey with classes from JKG to Class V and a vision rooted in excellence and values. Over the past 16 years, the institution has grown steadily in strength and stature, expanding its academic horizons up to Class XII with C.B.S.E affiliation. This journey of purposeful growth reflects our commitment to holistic education, academic rigor, and the nurturing of responsible, confident, and future-ready individuals.

Nestled on Baronda–Saddu Road, approximately seven kilometres from the heart of the city, the campus is set amidst a serene, pollution-free environment.Our thoughtfully designed campus ensures ample natural light and ventilation, creating a healthy and inspiring learning environment. Named after the renowned industrialist and educational visionary, Late Shri Ram Kishore Sarda, who firmly believed that the destiny of India is shaped in its classrooms, the school was established by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Raipur Kendra with generous endowments from the Sarda Group.
The institution commenced its academic journey in April 2010 with classes from Junior KG to Class V, enrolling 167 students and supported by a dedicated team of 12 teachers. Over the years, the school has witnessed remarkable growth in both scale and stature. Today, it proudly educates 1939 students , guided by a committed faculty of  95 experienced and passionate educators.

The Inaugural Function of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s R. K. Sarda Vidya Mandir, Raipur, held on 11 April 2010, was a distinguished and memorable occasion, graced by eminent dignitaries from across Chhattisgarh. The school stands as the realization of a long-cherished vision of Shri Kamal Sarda, Chairman of Bhavan’s Raipur Kendra, and draws inspiration from his father, Late Shri Ram Kishore Sarda, a revered educational visionary.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of His Excellency Shri Shekhar Dutt, then Governor of Chhattisgarh, as the Chief Guest, and Hon’ble Dr. Raman Singh, then Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, as the Guest of Honour, along with senior ministers, educationists, trustees of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, and other distinguished guests. The function was presided over by Justice Shri B. N. Srikrishna, International Vice-President and Trustee of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.The dignitaries highlighted the transformative role of education in fostering dignity, confidence, and social progress, and appreciated the school’s non-commercial commitment to quality education.

Expressing confidence in the institution’s role in shaping future generations, the Principal, Shri Amitava Ghosh, outlined the school’s vision, facilities, and philosophy of excellence and self-belief. Srikrishna, the architect of the school, Shri M. M. Patel, by His Excellency the Governor Shri Shekhar Dutt, and the site engineer, Shri Praveen Tete, by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.

The school places strong emphasis on skill-based learning, competency-based assessment, and critical thinking, as advocated by NEP 2020, while rote learning is actively discouraged. Bhavan’s R.K. Sarda Vidya Mandir follows the curriculum prescribed by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and implemented through textbooks recommended by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), in consonance with the NEP 2020 guidelines. The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (Affiliation No. 3330156) for the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) and is in the process of seeking affiliation for the All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (AISSCE).

Holistic development, a key pillar of NEP 2020, is a cornerstone of our educational approach. The curriculum in the formative years includes shloka chanting, yoga, meditation, aerobics, robotics, clay modelling, drawing and painting, vocal and instrumental music, dance, and a wide range of sports and games such as tennis, basketball, badminton, football and volleyball. Every child is encouraged to develop proficiency in at least one sport or co-curricular activity by the time they complete their schooling.

Our academic calendar is enriched with quizzes, Olympiads, debates, declamations, TEDx, SPIC MACAY concerts, Model United Nations (MUN) sessions, and a variety of inter-school and intra-school competitions. We believe that participation, creativity, collaboration, and exposure to eminent personalities, alongside rigorous academics, contribute significantly to the development of well-rounded, confident, and responsible individuals.
At Bhavan’s R.K. Sarda Vidya Mandir, Design Thinking and Innovation, and STEM education form an integral part of the learning framework.
